Drouin Library – Expressing Trauma Through Poetry: Introductory Workshop
This workshop equips poets with introductory tools for exploring suffering and difficulty. Avoiding writing that retraumatises, the focus is the empowering aspects of poetry to represent and suggest, rather than retell. Participants will engage in writing activities drawing on the shared experience of the daily wear and tear of life”
21st September 2024, Moe Library (to be confirmed)
Writing With Voice
This workshop is for all writers. No matter your preferred genre, voice applies everyone.
What is voice and how do you know what yours is? What role does sentence structure and word choice play in the development of voice? When should you defend your writing habits and when should you push yourself to be more than the sum of your parts? These questions, and more, will be considered and addressed in the form of a variety of writing activations.
